Finance Business Partner Full Time Permanent

We are on the look out for a innovative and passionate Finance Business Partner to come and join a fun-filled team in Leicester.

Someone with previous experience in a similar role who can hit the ground running. 

Responsibilities

• Key contributor to the delivery of the Bank’s financial plans and forecasts, including:
  • engagement with senior management to agree key metrics, targets and assumptions
  • review and challenge of key assumptions
  • review of plan and forecast outputs to identify anomalies and understand variances
  • preparation and analysis of alternative scenarios to understand impact of different factors
• Provide control and support to the business across other business planning and analysis activities, including:
  • providing any necessary support to meet departmental forecasting requirements
  • providing pertinent financial analysis to support business decision making
  • identifying business and commercial challenges to plans, and mitigating actions required
• Continuously improve budget and forecast modelling to drive more responsive and accurate foresight without introducing unnecessary complexity, whilst ensuring that any development is carried out in accordance with the Bank’s Model Risk Governance Framework.
• Review of month end results to identify and communicate variances to plan and forecast within the Finance team and wider Bank, and ensure that implications and potential mitigations are understood.
• Assist with the preparation and review of the monthly performance dashboard, and ensure that content is refreshed and updated so that it remains aligned with the key strategic aims of the Bank.
• Establish and maintain effective working relationships with key stakeholders in the business, contributing subject matter expertise in organisational development and product evaluation
• Where required, execute month-end responsibilities to enable the close and reporting of ledgers, including variance analysis
• Proactive contribution and participation at key business line meetings

• Timely preparation and distribution of financial plan and forecast information, with solid understanding of drivers and output KPIs
• Continuous improvement of financial modelling and other activities carried out in line with the Bank’s control framework
• High level of understanding of the business and business operations ensuring that;
  • financial plans accurately reflect the likely outcome, based on assumptions and data inputs
  • targeted scenario modelling can be carried out to understand key sensitivities to inputs
  • interaction with key business stakeholders is effective and informed
• The business performance measures and interventions correlate with and contribute to the successful delivery of the business plan and objectives

Job specific competencies:

• Highly numerate and has fully completed a recognised professional finance qualification

• Strong MS Excel and modelling skills and proficient in the use of MS Word, PowerPoint
• Previous experience from within Financial Services, and ideally Banking, highly desirable
• Solid business and commercial acumen
• Grounded analytical, problem solving and influencing skills
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build collaborative relationships at every level across the business
• Ability to handle high volumes of complex and technical information and distil into clear messages to impacted stakeholders
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Flexibility, adaptability and responsiveness to the needs of the wider Finance & Treasury team, whilst ensuring quality support to the business is maintained at all times
