This is not your usual Legal Cashiering role within a small time law firm. The firm are a Legal 500, award winning firm who are constantly growing and expanding. This Legal Cashier position has been created to cater for this growth. So right off the bat, you’re not coming in to cover or replace someone who’s left, but coming in to add your own experience, thoughts, processes and more to the team and finance function.
The Financial Controller you will report to wants you to be involved across the board. You’ll be working closely with Fee Earners in the business to ensure full understanding of accounting issues and the resolution of those issues.
They are a business built on strong client relationships so it is important to them that you share our values to build a rapport and maintain relationships with both internal colleagues and clients. Professionalism is therefore key, as is a dynamic individual with the ability to think on their feet, who will focus on getting the work done for the good of the team and the overall business.
There is a significant level of communication with internal clients. Mainly by phone and also email but more with direct contacts going forward. This will require professionalism and diplomacy as well as a development of styles commensurate with the support function.
The role will demand strong team leader skills to ensure coordination of accounts staff and their efficient working. This will be demanded more and more as the business grows and as the focus on governance and regulation grows with it.
